Favorite Motivational Quote:There are many ways to make excuses but there’s only one way to make results.

How long have you been doing CrossFit?: Since February 2020

How did you first discover CrossFit and what made you decide to start?: My aunt & uncle are big into CrossFit & I’ve always wanted to workout but never stuck with it. My aunt told me I should try CrossFit & that it be a good fit for me!

Tell us about your fitness/sports background: I don’t have much of a sports background, I played softball growing up but that’s about it.

What sorts of positive changes (mental, physical, emotional) have you noticed in your life since getting involved at No Excuses?:  Physical I’ve noticed a lot. I’ve gained some good muscle weight & I can see muscle definition. But mentally and emotionally CrossFit gives me a lot. It’s something for me, that’s about me, at my speed. Which is something I didn’t know I needed.

Who or what keeps you coming back and motivated?: Markie is a big help with motivating me to show up to class every day. We’ve become good friends since I started & she definitely keeps me coming back each day. Jiyun also holds me accountable & pushes me daily. She knows what I’m capable of before I even do! Those 2 are my girls!!

In what other ways do you use your fitness?: Wrestling with my 3-year-old!! She likes to be pick up and throw over and over and over and over again.

Please share with us a favorite CrossFit or No Excuses moment: Hands down my first CrossFit competition! I met so many people, it was so much fun and I hit a PR!

Really fun!

Name one goal you would like to achieve in the next year: To be able to do RX workouts every day!

Tell us about your hobbies and interests outside of the gym: Going to breweries and exploring GA and all the good food here!

What advice do you have for someone just starting CrossFit or is on the fence about starting?: Just start! You got things to lose and muscles to gain!

What do you love most about No Excuses?: How close everyone at the gym is!! And how it’s more than a gym, Brandon makes it such a great community with events, competitions, BBQs, etc!

Coach Brandon’s take: “It has been awesome to watch Taylor improve over the past year. She had very little strength training experience before joining No Excuses CrossFit and has come a long way in a short amount of time. She’s gone from using the 15-pound barbell to do cleans to now cleaning over 100 pounds. I think 2021 will be a big year for her training as she’s starting to pick up on some gymnastics skills like pull-ups and toes to bar.”
