CrossFit Kids gears up for February

A new block of CrossFit Kids starts up at No Excuses CrossFit on February 20th.  CrossFit Kids is a general fitness program for elementary school kids. The program focuses on developing good movement mechanics through fun games, engaging activities and age-appropriate workouts! Our focus is fun as we explore movement and develop competence in a wide variety of skills.

In January, our kids focused on gymnastics movements or moving our body in space. We worked on push ups, pull ups, kip swings, hanging, flipping over a bar, tripods, headstands and moving around any other way you can imagine!

The theme for February is “Pulling and Playing.” Our focus is pulling movements (deadlifts, cleans, sumo-deadlifts, pull-ups etc.) and playing! We will be focusing on incorporating unstructured play into our workouts and games at the end of class. Our goal as a program is to develop physical literacy and one of the best ways we can help our kids is by letting them play!

Class will run for four weeks from February 20th-March 15th on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5 PM. The cost to participate is $50. Contact laura@noexcusescrossfit.com for more information about CrossFit Kids.
