Carlos Gonzalez was injured prior to the CrossFit Open, but that hasn’t prevented him from doing the WODs. With his injury, he was only able to do the first part of the Open WOD 13.2, which featured shoulder to overhead, deadlifts and box jumps. Carlos could have easily given up on the Open and not done the WOD. But he still did the five reps that he could safely perform. Even better, he didn’t sulk in the corner or leave early. Carlos stuck around to cheer on his peers and came to the gym on two other days to help judge and support other members. Carlos’ great attitude towards the Open embodied the spirit of the CrossFit Games.
