Glen grew up in Albuquerque, NM, where he swam and played baseball in high school. During that same time, he was either on a skateboard, snowboard, road bikes or mountain bike. He raced mountain bikes competitively all over New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona during high school and college.
Glen continued to race while attending New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM and ended up graduating from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque with a degree in Political Science and a Minor in Communication and Journalism.
After starting CrossFit in January 2013, Glen decided to pursue his CrossFit Level 1 certification in 2018. He has experience coaching his wife and other athletes in the middle of workouts. Glen loves to engage with all of the members and build a personal relationship with everyone who walks through the door.
In Glen’s own words: “I had not been very physically active since racing bicycles competitively. December of 2012 my wife did a CrossFit workout with my sister in Austin, TX and was completely wore out from a fast WOD of air squats, running and kettlebell swings in a neighbor’s garage. My wife was hooked and invited me to attend a class with her at No Excuses. I reluctantly went with her and agreed to join. I was determined to not change my diet, but still workout. After losing some initial weight I realized that diet plays a huge role in a healthy lifestyle. Since then I have lost close to 45 pounds and I’m stronger than I have ever been. I love everything about CrossFit from the Olympic lifts, powerlifting, gymnastic movements to the healthy dietary change. My wife and I were very serious about our two sons being active and healthy, but at the same time we would sit at their baseball games and eat food that was bad for us and get fat. This was a big eye opener for the both of us. The CrossFit Community is a very welcoming community and I want to share what I have learned and accomplished with anyone who will listen.”
