How long have you been doing CrossFit?: Since April 2013

How did you first discover CrossFit and what made you decide to start?: My friends in TN owned a gym and we joined as soon as we moved there.

Tell us about your fitness/sports background: I played sports growing up, but never specialized – we moved around too much. Love the competitive aspect though, which is why I love CrossFit!

What sorts of positive changes (mental, physical, emotional) have you noticed in your life since getting involved at No Excuses?: I am physically stronger; but the relationships I have built keep me coming back every single day. CrossFit is a mental release for me, coming in every day allows me to decompress, laugh, and just enjoy being around my friends. Every person I have met has had some sort of impact on my life, it’s so hard to pinpoint anything specific.

Who or what keeps you coming back and motivated?: Daily pics with Leslie keep me coming in everyday, but also trying to keep up with the girls, and of course trying to beat Eli (haha!) make me come back every day. I love the competitive side of CrossFit, so my biggest motivation is the whiteboard 🙂

In what other ways do you use your fitness?: Carrying a toddler and baby at the same time, no second trips to/from the car, and of course – my mental health has been amazing!

Please share with us a favorite CrossFit or No Excuses moment.: I love when we all talk for the community, and the open – the open is my favorite!!

Name one goal you would like to achieve in the next year (doesn’t have to be CrossFit related, but it can be): I would like to get back to 2019 Lindsay (LOL) it was a lot of hard work and focus, but I felt my best then. 2 babies in 2 years took a toll on me, but I’m focusing on building my confidence and comfort in my own skin.

Tell us about your hobbies and interests outside of the gym: I love spending time with the kiddos, Being outside, and going on adventures with Matt

What advice do you have for someone just starting CrossFit or is on the fence about starting?: As we all say – just do it!! It WILL hurt for a little while, and can certainly be confusing, but it’s fun and scalable to all abilities. The changes you see will not be just physical, but mental as well. Once you allow your body to do what it was made to do, it’s a whole new level of freedom.

What do you love most about No Excuses?: No Excuses is my home away from home. I can go there each day and just let go of the daily stressors we all face. Everyone has become family, and I love that we are all there for each other day in and day out. The accountability amongst friends/classes is also amazing!
