How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I started at NECF in January 2018

How did you first discover CrossFit and what made you decide to start?
I do not remember how I stumbled upon CrossFit, all I remember is attending a free session and wanting to comeback.

Tell us about your fitness/sports background:
I played volleyball in college and I became a book worm after that, until I met my husband, he literally shocked my world when he introduced me to extreme sports. He got me into mountain bike, rock climbing (we even owned an indoor climbing gym in Mexico), kayaking, camping, and back-packing, just to name some.

What sorts of positive changes (mental, physical, emotional) have you noticed in your life since getting involved at No Excuses?
The WOD’s have become my therapy, they help me to get my mind off work and the daily fuss. In the physical side, I feel I’ve grown stronger and can complete the WOD’s with less difficulty however always relaying on the great tips and feedback I heard from the coaches.

Who or what keeps you coming back and motivated?
Sofia, that girl takes the “no excuses” part very serious. Joke aside, it feels good walking into the gym, there are friendly faces all around that motivate me to come back and do my best. Even when I struggle, I feel good because I see people around rooting for me.

In what other ways do you use your fitness?
Running, the workouts at the gym have proved to be a great complement to my running.

Please share with us a favorite CrossFit or No Excuses moment.
The moment when you all showed the support Dani needed after her accident, you did not let her fall back. Seeing you work along her side until she was fully recovered. Best moments!

Name one goal you would like to achieve in the next year (doesn’t have to be CrossFit related, but it can be)
I can do toes to bar and pull ups, however just one at the time thus, I want to start connecting them and do more than one at the time.

Tell us about your hobbies and interests outside of the gym.
I like running, and lately had fallen for trail running

What advice do you have for someone just starting CrossFit or is on the fence about starting?
Try it, it will stretch your own limits, and it would never disappoint

What do you love most about No Excuses?
I already mentioned the great community, which is second to none. Also, I love coming to a place that has a plan for you and for all you do within its four walls, while it also cares about all the things you do outside the gym.
