How long have you been doing CrossFit?
“Since October, 2016”
How did you first discover CrossFit and what made you decide to start?
“My husband (Mauricio Lopez), Invited me after he started going to No Excuses.”
Tell us about your sports/fitness background:
“Back in the good ole’ days, I used to run track in Mexico when I was in High school. That was about it, other than that I really just pushed myself to go to the gym as much as I could.”
What sorts of positive changes (mental, physical, emotional) have you noticed in your life since getting involved at No Excuses?
“It has completely changed my life. I finally feel like I have found a sport that I like. I feel like I have more energy, strength and motivation to work out.”
What keeps you coming back and motivated?
“I want to keep learning the movements and hopefully one day, move to the Fitness level.”
In what other ways do you use your fitness?
“I feel like I don’t have to get help when I am lifting something heavy. I can do it all by myself.”
Who or what motivates/inspires you?
“My kids are the center of my motivation. I feel like by continuing to keep my body physically fit, I will be able to enjoy my kids longer.”

“Being able to do all the CrossFit movements!”
Tell us about your hobbies and interests outside of the gym:
“I love to spend time with my family! Family comes first, so any chance I get I will take advantage of it and spend it with my family! They’re my number 1 priority!”
What advice do you have for someone just starting CrossFit or is on the fence about starting?
“Don’t underestimate the workouts, because THEY WILL ALWAYS BE TOUGH!! Also, don’t give up because it is a whole of fun and you feel great when you finish the workout!!”
What do you love most about No Excuses?
“I really like the friendly environment that’s at No Excuses! They are always so welcoming and they always find a way to cheer me on!!”

“Miriam started last fall in our New You Challenge. I remember thinking, “this woman is strong!” She has only continued to improve since then. It has been awesome watching her gain confidence, strength and skill. She gives Mauricio and Erick (her son) a run for their money on a daily basis!! We are thankful to have Miriam and her entire crew as part of our family here at No Excuses.
