How long have you been doing CrossFit?
“Since June of 2015.”

How did you first discover CrossFit and what made you decide to start?
“My workout partner told me he wanted to prove that a 245 lb body builder could win and “stand on the podium” [at the CrossFit Games].  He stopped CrossFit after 6 months and I couldn’t.”

Tell us about your sports/fitness background:
“I was high school wrestler, played tennis, soccer, roller blading and a pretend runner.”

What sorts of positive changes (mental, physical, emotional) have you noticed in your life since getting involved at No Excuses?
“Work doesn’t seem to stress me out anymore and I am the happiest I have ever been. Don’t get mad, but my goal has always been to keep weight on. I finally hit a new high last month.”

What keeps you coming back and motivated?
“Can’t seem to get enough is one of many reasons.”

In what other ways do you use your fitness?
“Chasing Amy Crawford down the street when she plays hard to get.”

Who or what motivates/inspires you?
“Jay Franks!  He is like that pink bunny, he doesn’t quit!”

Please share with us a favorite CrossFit or No Excuses moment.
“That Bridges guy not giving up on what everyone thought was a failed rep and pulled it off anyway.”

Name one goal you would like to achieve in CrossFit.
“Those Damn Muscle ups!  Just doing 1 is on my bucket list.  Finish top 100,000 in next years mens open. Don’t laugh, I am being serious.”

“House flipping and riding dirt bikes.”

What advice do you have for someone just starting CrossFit or is on the fence about starting?
“Don’t over think it.  It’s fun for a reason.”

What do you love most about No Excuses?
“How all the coaches are so different but yet compliment each other in way that leaves you fulfilled.  Also everyone in the CF family brings something to the table.  Even if this doesn’t make sense, I know you know what I mean!”

Coach Brandon’s Take:
“Dave came to No Excuses CrossFit with a little bit of experience in CrossFit, but still went through our Foundations program. He was able to fine-tune and correct some of his movements and has made tremendous progress over the past year at No Excuses CrossFit. He’s been one of the most consistent people at the gym and always comes to the gym ready to work.”
