SUWANEE — No Excuses CrossFit hosted the second annual Hugo Open, an in-house competition for its members on Saturday.

The competition had 68 competitors on 17 teams in the Rx and scaled divisions.

The competition featured four scoring workouts. The first WOD was ‘Synchro’ with a five-minute AMRAP of synchronized toes to bar and overhead squats for Rx and synchronized air squats and sit-ups for scaled. After a two-minute transition, it was followed by a one-rep max clean or Rx and one-rep max deadlift for scaled. Nearly two dozen athletes hit a personal record in the clean or deadlift.

The second WOD was ‘Tag Team’, which was a chipper-style workout. Rx had to run 800 meters, before doing 50 burpee box jumps, 100 pull ups and 150 wall balls. Scaled had a 400-meter run, 25 burpees, 75 ring pulls and 100 wall balls.

WOD 3 was ‘Sled Hell 2.0’ and was a version of last year’s WOD ‘Sled Hell’. The 13-minute AMRAP featured a 20 calorie row, 20 thrusters and a 200-meter sled push for Rx and 100 meters for scaled.
