Each year at the CrossFit Games, they honor someone with the Spirit of the Games award. This honor goes to the ‘athlete who embodies the spirit of the sport.’

Each week during the 2015 CrossFit Open, No Excuses CrossFit will recognize a member it feels represented the Spirit of the Games. This week’s honor goes to …

Jessica Hennen made her CrossFit Open debut in impressive fashion. Like a lot of first-time Open competitors, Jessica was extremely nervous about doing the competition. She came to Friday Night Throwdown, but couldn’t muster the courage to put her name on the whiteboard. She came back on Sunday and performed Open 15.1 with flying colors. Jessica completed 178 reps in the scaled division of 15.1 and then hit personal record in 15.1a. She had a clean and jerk of 125 pounds to give her one of the top lifts by a No Excuses CrossFit female athlete.

Jessica’s willingness to push herself outside of her comfort zone is what this sport is all about.

Congratulations Jessica! We are very proud of you!!
