Mele’s earn medals at World Powerlifting Championships

Cathy, 48, took bronze in the masters division, while Lydia, 16, won silver in the sub-junior division. The mother-daughter duo we
re coached by No Excuses CrossFit member Jeff Robison.

“I’m so happy to have met these ladies at No Excuses CrossFit. They have worked incredibly hard at the gym at 6 a.m. for three days a week preparing for this moment and then shined when it counted,” Robison said. “There is no ‘well, we will do better tomorrow’ at the world championships. They traveled around the world and put on a great performance when it counted.”

Cathy had a squat of 82.5kg (181 pounds), bench press of 52.5kg (115 pounds) and a deadlift of 132.5kg (292 pounds).

Lydia had a squat of 120kg (264 pounds), bench press of 65kg (143 pounds) and a deadlift of 137.5kg (303 pounds).
