CrossFit Level 1 Certified Coach

I have been involved with athletics nearly my whole life. I grew up playing a lot of different sports, but focused on football, wrestling and weightlifting while at Shiloh High School. Sports, particularly football, has always been my passion and I was fortunate enough to play at the college level.

After college, I realized I needed to lose all the weight I gained to be a college offensive lineman. I took an interest in running. First with 5Ks, then 10Ks and half marathons. I’ve run dozens of road races over the last five years. After completing my first marathon in January 2010, I wanted a new challenge and a new way to train.

I was tired of working out at globo gyms, running on the treadmill and then hitting a body part to work out. I saw results with it for a while, but eventually that stopped and I was bored. I heard about CrossFit and thought it would be a good challenge. Once I went through my first workout, I knew that was the workout regimen for me. It combined all the workouts I was used and added new, fun, exercises to it. CrossFit allows me to compete with myself, others in the gym and the clock.

I’ve lost more than 50 pounds from when I was a college offensive lineman. Many of my weight lifting numbers are similar to when I played football. The biggest difference is the addition of multiple pullups, pushups and situps to my workouts.

I am CrossFit Level 1 Certified and I have an extensive background in weight lifting, running and the competition arena. I am available to train the CrossFit beginner or the experienced athlete that needs that extra push.
